Frequently Asked Questions

What is BinMaxx®?
BinMaxx® is a front-end loader (FEL) scale system designed for refuse trucks. It accurately weighs and records the weight of individual commercial containers during collection. By measuring bin container content weights, fleets can track route profitability and allow for service verification.

How does BinMaxx® work?
BinMaxx® utilizes high-precision, arm-mounted deflection sensors that measure micro-flexes in the lift arms as the bin container is raised. This micro-flexing is translated into weight readings, which are displayed on an in-cab display.

The BinMaxx® scale must be calibrated before use. After calibration, simply view bin content weights on the scale display in the cab.

How do I record my lift data and my container content weight data from BinMaxx®?
There are four methods of recording lift data and container content weight data from BinMaxx®.

1. Fleet management software – BinMaxx integrates with top third-party fleet management software through integration with the existing on-board computer. For a full list of partners, view https://www.air-weigh.com/integration-partners/

2. BinMaxx Cloud® – BinMaxx Cloud® is an online cloud storage that saves lift data, to be easily accessed from a computer or smart device.

3. In-Cab printer – BinMaxx® can be paired with an optional in-cab printer to record and print daily lift data.

4. Log book – Drivers can simply write down the weights in the log book.

What increments does BinMaxx® weigh container content weights in?

PEOPLE SAY THE NICEST THINGS

Mike VanderPloeg
Operations Supervisor

With EVs, the cars are getting heavier. With every electrification point of a vehicle, it’s 200 to 300 more pounds vs. a gas version. A hybrid is 200 to 300 pounds more than the gas car and a full EV is another 200 to 300 pounds. That makes these scales all the more critical.

We use Air-Weigh scales to ensure that we pick up a full load every time. In fact, the first big haul after we installed them paid for the scales! I also like the peace of mind of knowing we won’t get an overweight ticket.
