Air-Weigh, a leader in the manufacture and distribution of on-board scale systems nationwide, has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineer.

Summary: Design, development and test of new products
Hours: 8 hours per day, Monday thru Friday; additional hours as necessary

Air-Weigh, the leader in on-board electronic scale systems for commercial trucks and trailers, is adding a key mechanical engineering position.  Air-Weigh is a growth-oriented technology company shipping products nationwide and to Europe, South America, Australia and other parts of the world. We are seeking a mechanical engineer to design, develop, and sustain products, and to support product release and manufacturing. 

This is an exciting time at Air-Weigh, as we are not only growing, but we are making new advances in technology to our products every day.  We are looking for a motivated, forward-thinking individual to join our dynamic team.

Our on-vehicle systems include sensors monitored by modules located on both the truck and the trailer, coupled to an in-dash and touchscreen displays.  Our sensors and components are housed in small packages, designed for the rugged transportation environment.  Products include plastic injection molded, machined, sheet metal and formed steel parts.

Responsibilities

Design, development and support of Air-Weigh’s product line, as well as direct involvement in product release and manufacturing.  This is a hands-on position with active participation in R & D and ongoing projects, including testing, troubleshooting and innovation.

Requirements

Qualified candidates will have a BS Mechanical Engineering with excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to drive tasks and projects to completion with limited supervision. We desire experience in electronics packaging, manufacturing methods and automation, 2D drawings, and process documentation.

Additional preferred skills include component overmolding, vehicle electronics packaging, FEA, GD&T, ISO 9000, and SolidWorks.  Experience testing parts and systems to formal standards is also a plus.
